The dress is made of fine cotton poplin printed with a "Toile de Jouy" design in shades of blue from the Ratti/Como archive. It is buttoned and has a separate fabric belt. The front and back skirt are pleated. Pockets are worked into the side seams. The half sleeves have a cuff with a button. The sleeve cuffs are pleated. The cuffs, stand-up collar and button placket have a small ruffled edge. The buttons are made of mother-of-pearl.
